Reading the Word
I have been reading through the bible at my own pace for the last few months. I started it around the beginning of June. I read as much as I can when I can. That way, I don't feel as pressured or disguntled when I fall behind in a more structured reading plan. I just started the Psalms yesterday. As I have been reading through the Old Testament, I have come to realize how important it is for us as believers to be knowledgeable about what we believe. Most of you probably saw the recent report that athesists and agnostics know the bible better than Christians do. I'm not saying that I am or probably end up being a great biblical scholar but I feel that it is so important to know what we are saying, in the context that it is being written, and live up to those words. I have enjoyed greatly learning and studying God's Word and can't wait to see what he reveals to me as time goes by.
